Plan + Print + Do

Privacy

Plan + Print + Do runs in your browser. There’s no account, and what you make stays on your device.

What stays on your device

Whatever the app remembers between visits, like your settings, saved designs, and any photos, stickers and fonts you add, is kept in your browser’s storage on this device. None of it is uploaded. PDFs, SVGs and images you export are made in your browser too.

Clearing your browser data deletes it all, so export anything you want to keep.

If you want a backup, Export all in the Saved designs section downloads your saved designs as one .json file to your device, and Import reads one back. The file is made and read in your browser and nothing is uploaded. It holds each design’s name and settings, including any text you’ve typed into it, so anyone you give the file to can read that. Photos, stickers and fonts aren’t in it.

Share links

A share link carries your design inside the link itself. Anyone with the link can see what’s in it, including any names, titles or dates you’ve typed. Photos, stickers and fonts you add are never included.

That part of the link isn’t sent to the website when someone opens it, but apps that show link previews, like some messaging apps, may read it.

While you work, the address in your browser’s address bar is kept in step with your design in the same way. Your browser may keep copies of it in its history and in any bookmark you make, and may sync its history to your other devices if you’ve turned that on. That stays between you and your browser and isn’t sent to this site.

Installing it, and using it offline

You can install Plan + Print + Do from your browser so it opens in its own window like an app. Installing doesn’t create an account or send anything anywhere.

After it has loaded once online, it keeps working without a connection. You can design, save and export as normal. The things that need a connection are fonts you haven’t used before, the font previews in the font picker, calendar feeds, public-holiday dates not already saved and updates. When an update is ready, the app shows a note so you can reload.

The installed app uses your browser’s storage, just like the website. On a computer it usually shares that storage with the browser you installed it from, so your saved designs show up in both. On iPhone and iPad, an app added to the Home Screen keeps its own storage, separate from Safari.

Fonts

The fonts that come with the app are part of it, and every one a starting design uses is saved on install, so exports work offline. “Save all fonts for offline use” in the font settings copies the rest of them into your browser’s storage from the app itself, and “Remove saved fonts” takes them out again. Nothing is fetched from elsewhere for that.

Other fonts download the first time you use them, from jsDelivr, a public file host. The previews in the font picker come from Google Fonts: they’re asked for when the picker is on screen, and the request names the fonts being previewed. Like any website, both services can see your IP address, and that the request came from this site. Once downloaded, a font is kept on your device so it works offline (the sixty you used most recently).

Calendar feeds

If you add a calendar feed, your browser fetches it straight from that address, and only when you press Fetch. The host of that address can see your IP address, and that the request came from this site. The address is kept on your device and isn’t sent to me or included in share links. Dates read from a feed become part of your design like any other date, so they are in share links and backups.

Public holidays

If you choose a holiday country, the app downloads that country’s public-holiday dates from Nager.Date for the years your calendar covers, and again if you move to a year it doesn’t have yet. Your browser sends the country code and the year; it does not send artwork, names or custom dates. Like any website, the service can see your IP address, and that the request came from this site. Holiday dates are cached on your device and saved with your design for offline printing.

Sunrise and sunset

Sunrise and sunset times are worked out in your browser, from a place you pick, from a latitude and longitude you type, or from your location if you press “Use my location”. Your browser asks you first, and the app asks for your location at no other time. A location from your browser is rounded to about a kilometre and saved as part of your design, with a place name taken from your device’s time zone, so it is in share links and backups you make. It is not sent to this site or to anyone else.

Links to other sites

The footer links to jaclyntan.com and Buy Me a Coffee. They are ordinary links: nothing is sent to either unless you click, the link doesn’t tell them which page you came from, and once you’re there their own privacy policies apply. The “Send feedback” link opens an email to the address below.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any host, it handles each visit, so it sees your IP address, the page you asked for and details such as your browser type, and it counts overall traffic. It may keep logs for running and protecting its service, and may run diagnostics of its own, such as asking browsers to report failed connections. I don’t use ads or analytics scripts, and the site doesn’t set cookies.

Provided as is

Plan + Print + Do is a small tool made with care, and it comes as it is. The templates are offered as a helpful place to start, but I can’t promise they’re accurate, that they’ll suit your printer, paper or equipment, or that they’ll turn out exactly as you picture. A quick test print on scrap paper or card is always worth it. Please use your own judgement too, especially for anything children will use or that goes near food, heat or other safety concerns.

Please note using this site and anything you make with it is at your own risk, and I can’t accept responsibility for any loss or damage that comes from it. If something doesn’t work the way it should let me know (my email is below) and I’ll do my best to fix it.

Brand names

Some sizes and settings are named after the products they fit, such as Filofax, Hobonichi, Happy Planner and Traveler’s Notebook, so you can find the size you need. Those names and trademarks belong to their owners. Plan + Print + Do isn’t affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any of them.

Every template here is drawn from scratch from standard shapes and measurements. None is copied from anyone else’s design.
